Photopress 0.4.1
Thanks to Jonathan the “upsizing” issue is now fixed - when you upload images smaller than your set maximum they won’t get resized. I’ve also switched the buttons to Alex King’s JS Quicktags, which seems to be compatible with ContactForm (no surprise since that’s where I borrowed the function from).
Download photopress.zip or photopress.tar.gz.
You can always find the most recent version (and older versions too if you know where to look) at wp-plugins.org.

neat
now is not necessary to deactivate contactform plugin to browse pics
just one question, I was trying to figure out how to create albums
I went to manage/photopress albums/manage album categories but it seems to just let me name categories
how do I create an album?
thanks

Well, I found this update, inatalled the new files, and put in the new menu-header file that you offer on the previous post. Now I have an Options page and have been able to tell it not to show Random Images on the main page. I have even managed to find the pics thru ftp - it sure would be great to be able to delete photos off the server through the wp admin panel.
Also, it would be awesome if one could Browse the photos according to Category - once the collection begins to get large, it would likely be one of the best ways to find just that photo you are looking for.
I am so glad you made this plugin! It’s a great leap forward to making WP more user-friendly for the true non-techie person! Thanks SO MUCH!
One other thing, given that WP doesn’t allow true WYSYWYG editing for the non-techie (being able to “place” an image just where they want it in a post), do you think you could consider a future option that would allow the user to click-to-choose a “position” for the image just before insertion? I know you give something to that effect in the Options section where one can choose a default - but it’s not really a non-techie option that makes it easy for the user to pick a position for each image.
Thank YOU for your hard work!

I really hate to bother you again so quickly, but I created a test category for my test image, and then deleted the image from the server (since I didn’t want others to see one of MY pics when browsing the album on my friend’s site). Now the photo page is throwing an error looking for the deleted pic.
Warning: getimagesize(/home/humbsco7/public_html/wp-content/photos/thumb_MyAvatar.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/username/public_html/wp-content/plugins/photopress.php on line 232
I take it that because of the created category, the database has been changed and is now looking for the missing pic. This was not a problem with other pics I deleted without a category assigned to it. I see no options for deleting categories from within the admin panel.
I also haven’t been able to figure how to keep the plugin from creating a link to the “Photo Album” pages (I’ve tried selecting the relevant “Options”), which would make the above problem a moot one. I know I can delete the link code before I post, but again, I’m trying to make this as easy as possible for a very non-techie user (I’m only on the lower end of moderate-techie user. :P ).

i don’t know if this is the most convenient way, but i added this code to the sidebar et voilà !

i tried uploading it to the same folder of the plugin but still looks like html from the nineties

Hi Issac,
First of all thanks for the great plug in!
I have a feature request if you don’t mind ;)
It would be nice if PhotoPress will have an option to load multiple albums base on the folder structure under ..\wp-content\photos\ instead of loading all images from the same folder (\photos\). It is very hard to manage categories for over 500 pictures ;)
You did a great job!!! I think that PhotoPress is the best Foto plug-in out there…
Thanks,
Andrey
